She has also carried out original research in the areas of maternal and child health.
]]>Prior to joining the Program, Alice was a Project Coordinator at Makerere School of Public Health, for the Covid Multi country project. Until 2020, she held the position of Public Health Specialist, HIV Treatment Team Lead, at CDC Uganda. Previously, she worked with Uganda Ministry of Health and Makerere University Medical School as a Senior Consultant Physician and Honorary Lecturer.
Alice is a member of the Association of Physicians of Uganda (APU), the Uganda Gastroenterology Society, Deputy Chair of the UVRI Research and Ethics Committee and was one of the founder members of the Uganda National Health Consumers Organization (UNHCO), where she served on the BOD for several years and is a member of the Uganda Virus Research Institute – Research and Ethics Committee (UVRI-REC).

]]>Simon has served as an M&E advisor for several PEPFAR funded HIV/AIDS programs in Uganda. He currently coordinates the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) project of the METS program. In addition, he lectures and supervises MPH students in the Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health, School of Public Health, Makerere University. Over the past one decade, Simon has been actively involved in scientific and operations research and programming for HIV/AIDS, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and Child Health and has widely published in high impact peer reviewed journals.
His recent publications focus on quality of HIV/AIDS prevention programs, communication with HIV-infected children, increasing treatment coverage for schistosomiasis control and increasing access to children’s medicines. In addition, Simon has made several scientific presentations at both local and international conferences and meetings.

Jonathan has worked as a consultant with WHO on health information systems and he is currently working with Makerere University School of Public Health – METS program as a Health Informatics Specialist. Before joining the School of Public Health in 2012, he worked with Makerere University College of Computing and Information Technology as a Software Developer.
My research interests include disease surveillance, global health, evaluation methodologies, public health workflow, mHealth technologies that promote health, and developing information management infrastructure in resource-constrained environments He is a member of Uganda Health Informatics Association, Kenya Health Informatics Association, global OpenMRS community, global DHIS2 community, global Bahmni community, OpenSRP and currently the President of Makerere University Health Informatics Association.
